Winter Wedding at Sunken Gardens, St. Petersburg, Florida

A beautiful garden ceremony under the Florida sun, Rachelle and David celebrated their winter wedding at Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg, Florida, and it was truly such a perfect afternoon that I would do it all over again!

As a couple, Rachelle and David split their time between New York and Florida, so when the time came to choose a venue it made sense for them which one to pick. They already had ties to St. Petersburg Florida, and Sunken Gardens seemed the best fit for their ceremony. If you’ve never visited, Sunken Gardens is a lovely botanical garden that truly feels like a tropical oasis. We didn’t even scratch the surface of the garden, but it was the perfect backdrop to their ceremony and portraits.

Though it looked and felt like a summer day, (thank you Florida!) the beautiful burgundy and grey wedding colors were a nice nod to the holiday season, and contrasted beautifully against the lush green of the gardens. And the fact they got married in December? Well, David actually proposed during the holidays when the two of them were unwrapping gifts! (so cute!)

After their heartfelt morning ceremony, we all traveled to Downtown St. Pete’s to enjoy an afternoon reception which was being held at Good Night John Boy – a groovy bar that features a 70s aesthetic and a disco floor!
